Dr. Mia Rakic is specialist in periodontology and oral medicine, and recognized expert in domain of personalized management of bone pathologies. She has graduated 2008 at the Faculty of Dental Medicine (University of Belgrade, Serbia) where she defended her Ph.D. thesis 2012 in field of Validation of alveolar bone loss markers for diagnosis of peri-implantitis. In 2013 she performed her post-doctoral training in INSERM-UMRS-1229 unit specialized in regenerative medicine of osteo-articular system (University of Nantes, France) in field of advanced histological methods for bone assessment. Afterwards, she focused her research on investigation of infection and titanium particles (TPs) induced peri-implant osteolysis, and development of targeted therapies based on biomimetic nanohydroxyapatite scaffolds loaded with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agents. Dr. Rakic is delegate in the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), and member of Serbian Society of periodontology, International association of dental research (IADR) and Spanish society of periodontology (SEPA). Dr. Rakic is recognized expert in domain of implant complications and invited speaker on leading congresses in domain of periodontology and implantology. She is author of more than 35 scientific papers published in leading indexed journals in the field (citations: 949, Hi=16) and member of editorial and reviewer boards of the leading journals in the field.
