Prof. M.D. Dusan Vucetic – Platelet gel in regeneration of chronic wounds
Wound care
Description
GLOBAL REGENERATIVE CONGRESS 2019
Chronic wounds are highly prevalent and have become a public health crisis, as the population ages and more people live with diabetes, obesity, and vascular disease. Successful treatment of chronic wounds requires that healthcare providers study both the pathophysiology of wound healing and maintain knowledge of the most current wound care guidelines.
A significantly improved level of transfusion safety has contributed to use allogeneic blood product and offers novel therapeutic options for patients who can not easily undergo autologous blood processing (those who can not be subjected to repeated bleeding – infants, patients with septicemia or hematological disorders, elderly subjects affected by comorbidities, or emergency orthopedic surgery patients who could benefit from platelet gel (PG) treatment.
