THE ROLE OF MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND IN REGENERATIVE MEDICINE – BONE MARROW ASPIRATION TECHNIQUE, APPLICATION OF INJECTION TREATMENTS IN UPPER, LOWER EXTREMITY AND SPINE, PRP PREPARATION AND MANIPULATION
Description
Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) and regenerative medicine is an exponentially growing field in the scope of neuromusculoskeletal medicine. Ultrasound provides many advantages compared with other imaging modalities: it is relatively inexpensive, does not require radiation exposure, and can be performed in the office by the same clinician who performed the history and physical examination or at the point of care and could perform real time dynamic examination. The musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) couldn’t be separated with the regenerative medicine treatment since the MSUS could be used as diagnostic tool pre and post regenerative medicine treatment and as guided intervention tool as well. Any regenerative injection treatments need the precise location of the injection, precise diagnosis pre injection to determine the treatment plan and post injection treatment monitoring, all those aspects will influence the outcomes of the treatment. In the case of shoulder pain due to the rotator cuff pathology, what kind of rotator cuff pathology, how to choose our regenerative injection treatment, where will we inject, how is the injection techniques, how to perform ultrasound guided injection, and how to monitor or follow-up our injection treatment outcomes, all these issues also for any musculoskeletal pain problems.
This workshop is dedicated to all medical specialist deal with the musculoskeletal medicine or orthopedics who already performed basic musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostic and the workshop will cover all aspect of common musculoskeletal pain of the upper, lower extremities and spine management from the clinical and ultrasound assessment to the ultrasound guided regenerative injection treatment and post injection rehabilitation protocols based on the current evidence and best clinical practice experiences.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• The participants are able to perform clinical assessment and musculoskeletal ultrasound of common musculoskeletal pain of the upper and lower extremities and spine.
• The participants know and understand how to choose regenerative injection treatment for common musculoskeletal pain of the upper and lower extremities and spine .
• The participants are able to perform ultrasound-guided regenerative injection treatment for common musculoskeletal pain of the upper and lower extremities and spine.
WHO IS FOR THIS TRAINING?
All the medical doctors who deal with musculoskeletal medicine or orthopedics regenerative (physiatrist, rheumatologist, musculoskeletal radiologist, pain specialist, orthopedics, sports medicine specialist, neurologist, neurosurgeon etc).
AGENDA
• Ultrasound diagnostic of common musculoskeletal pain of the upper, lower extremities and the spine. (lecture and demonstration) – 1 hour
• Regenerative injection treatment for common musculoskeletal pain of the upper, lower extremities and the spine . (lecture) – 30 minutes
• Ultrasound guided regenerative injection treatment for common musculoskeletal pain of the upper, lower extremities and the spine . Tips and pitfalls. (lecture and demonstration) – 1 hour
• Rehabilitation post regenerative injection treatment. (lecture) – 30 minutes
• All participants perform ultrasound examination and ultrasound guided regenerative injection treatment of selected cases of musculoskeletal pain of the upper, lower extremities and the spine . (supervised hands-on) – 2 hours
