M.D. S.C. Marko Strbad – Role of Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem cells (MSC) in Regenerative Medicine
Description
BASIC SCIENCE IN REGENERATIVE MEDICINE PANEL
GLOBAL REGENERATIVE CONGRESS 6-8 SEPTEMBER 2019
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have a crucial role in regenerative medicine. These are the cells which are deposited in different tissues and could differentiate in broad range of tissues -e.g. bone, cartilage, skin, vessels, etc.) but they can not differentiate into germinal cells and haematopoietic cells. The most known sources of MSC are bone marrow, adipose tissue, dental pulp and cord tissue. MSC are most probably resting on the surface of capillaries. When there are signals related with injury MSC detect them and cooperate in the healing process. Use of MSC is very broad: orthopaedics, gastroenterology, plastic and aesthetic surgery, maxillofacial surgery and parodontology.
